Dental Price in Nepal varies vastly based on the services or facilities. While government hospital offer cheaper compared to private dental clinic but wait time and hygiene are in poor condition. In private dental clinic also there are many unregistered dental workers (Quackery) who do not have license from Nepal Medical Council (NMC) and they often offer cheaper dental services.
Several factors one need to consider other than just cost of dental treatment:
1. Wait Time – should me minimal as every patient’s time is important as much as doctors. Therefore proper appointment scheduling & reminders are necessary to make sure patient get treatment done at the time of their appointment.
2. Sterilization – must be of international standard – one should not compromise their chances of infection. Proper sterilization and transparency of sterilization is utmost necessary at Dental Clinics.
3. Location / Interiors – There is a popular term ‘Dental Fear’ which causes delay in dental treatments which again causes more dental problems in patients. Therefore, clinic must have welcoming environment starting from location with parking, entrance, reception, dental chair facilities, and restroom. Interior must be decorated properly and color must be used wisely to avoid any sings that will bring dental fear signals.
4. Time / Support – Doctors must provide ample time during dental treatment asking them about their medical history, current medication, and have friendly conversation specially with kids. Patients needs support before and after their treatments as well. Therefore, doctors should be readily available if patients wants to talk about their treatments.
